Moving In
Move in can be an emotional and high-stress time with all the moving pieces, but don't worry, we will guide you through the process.
Fall 2025 Move In
Students will move into their residence hall room or apartment based on the dates below. It is important to arrive on the correct day, as special activities to support transitioning to Webster are planned based on when a student's floor moves-in.
Students will receive their housing assignment to their Webster email by the end of June, and will schedule their move in time slot via the included sign-up link. Additional specific instructions on how to move-in will be sent to students via email. That email will also include an early arrival request form, but again it is very important to stick to your assigned day as much as possible.
| *Transfer students are highly encouraged to attend orientation on Friday, Aug. 15 and Saturday, Aug. 16. If Transfer students would like to attend orientation they should sign up for move in on Thursday, Aug. 14. Transfer students who are assigned to residence hall spaces, show up on transfer move in day and plan to attend orientation, will have orientation leader assistance like freshmen at move in. If not attending orientation or assigned an apartment, they can schedule on their building's normal move in day. | ||

Early Arrival
There are very limited reasons for students needing to move-in early. Approved reasons include in-season athletics and on-campus jobs. Ease or cost of travel, off-campus jobs and desire to move-in early will not be approved reasons.
All students needing to arrive early will need to fill out the Early Arrival Form, which is emailed to students Webster email address with other move in communications.
What Happens After Move In? Lots of Great Things!
On Wednesday, Aug. 13 and Thursday, Aug. 14 there are evening activities:
- Parents and Families — Attend Family Orientation hosted by the Office of First-Year Experience and Family Programs from 4-5 p.m. in the University Center, Sunnen Lounge. Register on the .
- Students
- 5:30 p.m. — Meet in your floor lounge and go to dinner with those who live around you. Your RA will walk you over to Marletto's. If you are out to dinner with family that is OK, but make sure to be back by 7 p.m.
- 7 p.m. — This is your mandatory floor meeting (on the day your floor moves in).
- 8 p.m. — There will be a fun event each night, and people from your floor can walk over together.
- Apartment Students — Your mandatory floor meeting will take place at 5 p.m. on Sunday, with location to be determined. Afterward, you can attend the Block Party in the West Circle Drive.
During winter break, there are limited resources on campus due to campus closure around the winter holidays. Dining operations will be closed over the break period. Housing Operations will be limited, with no evening package hours. During this time, students should contact the RA on call for any housing-specific urgent needs or Public Safety in an emergency.
Residence Halls
The residence halls all close for winter break at 5 p.m. on the Friday of finals week. If returning to student housing for spring semester, students can keep belongings in their space, but do need to vacate and take with them any belongings they need for the winter break period. If you are a resident in the residence halls and need housing during winter break, please contact housing@webster.edu.
Apartments
The apartments (Webster Village and Big Bend) remain open through winter break. Graduating residents must move-out by 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12, 2025.
In extenuating circumstances, a student can request an early move in by submitting an Early Move In Request Form (available each November).
Returning Fall Residents
All returning residents from Fall semester may return the Saturday before classes, starting at 9 a.m. Card access will be reinstated automatically, and you do not need to check in with staff. Welcome back!
New Spring Residents
Housing assignments for Spring semester will be sent out in late November/early December. They will be sent to your Webster and application email addresses. If you have not received your housing assignment, or if you have questions related to housing, contact the Residential Life Office at 314-246-4663 or housing@webster.edu.
All new residents should move in the Saturday before classes begin, starting at 10 a.m. Move in for new residents will occur from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. via the Housing Office in West Hall (240 Edgar Road, St. Louis, MO 63119). After this period, there will be instructions posted on the Housing Office door for newly arriving students to receive assistance with check-in.

Moving into on-campus housing is an exciting step, and we’re here to help make it smooth. The Â鶹ÊÓƵ Office of Housing and Residential Life has put together a suggested Residence Halls packing list (PDF) and a Webster Village Apartments packing list (PDF) to help guide you as you prepare for the upcoming academic year. We recommend talking with your suitemate or roommates before arrival to coordinate and avoid bringing duplicate items.
